Solid Waste

Technical Support to the Governments of El Salvador and Honduras in Elaborating the Strategic Solid Waste Management Plans to Mitigate Pollution and Coastal Marine Litter, including Plastic Pollution of Land Origin.

This baseline study analyzed waste management systems in El Salvador and Honduras, covering aspects such as waste generation, collection, treatment and final disposal, which led to technical, financial and regulatory solutions being proposed to promote the circular economy and social inclusion.

Supervision of the Construction of three (03) Recovery Works for Solid Waste-Degraded Areas in Chancay, Oxapampa and Pozuzo.

This supervision covered the works to recover solid-waste-degraded areas in priority zones, with emphasis on the final technical closure of dumpsites in these 3 cities to improve environmental conditions and reinforce municipal management of waste.

Provincial Plan for Integrated Management of Solid Waste of the Province of Catamarca. Formulation of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan in different urban and rural areas in the 16 Departments of the Province of Catamarca.

A 20-year Integrated Urban Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRSU, in Spanish) was formulated for the 16 Departments of the Province of Catamarca, including diagnoses, waste generation and characterization studies, policy design, projects identification and prioritization, preparation of executive projects and environmental and social impact studies and screening.
